 ( ) jmh (at) hhlaw (dot) caI was born and raised in Vancouver, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Bishop’s University and then moved to Los Angeles for law school in 2000. I graduated and passed the California Bar Exam in 2003, and commenced a general litigation practice in Los Angeles. I moved back to Vancouver a few years later, and articled at a boutique commercial litigation firm in downtown Vancouver. I was called to the British Columbia bar in May 2008. Since my call, I have continued to practice litigation, and have argued cases in Supreme Court and Provincial Court. I have a varied litigation background including employment law, entertainment law and general commercial litigation. Previously, my clients have included landlords, companies, entertainment companies, employees, employers and real estate developers. This expansive background provides a solid foundation for my current family law practice. I have extensive knowledge of the court system as well as being able to determine when alternative dispute resolution is the right decision for my client. I recently co-authored a paper on workplace bullying. When I’m not working, I am a fanatic reader, long suffering Canucks fan and skier. |
